First real ride

I took "Scoots" out for a ride today. Went about 10 miles all together. Rode from Morning Side Heights to Time Square, from the East-side to the Upper East-side back to Morning Side.

It was a fun ride and I started to feel more comfortable playing in traffic.

Bought my scooter

So last night I finally bought my scooter. I got it from the Vespa dealer at 55th & 11th Ave. Just as a heads up, they waived the prep fee of $300 so don't get suckered into paying it. Here's what I got:

I rode it home at 8pm with my wife on the back. I have to say, it was a bit intimidating riding it home at night time for the first time. Absolutely loved the ride though! The scooter rides smooth and has a lot of pick up.

Oh, and the deal gave me a voucher for a free tank of gas. It cost $6 to fill it up :-)

Scoot Scoot

About two months ago, I gave up the dream of driving a motorcycle and found the desire to own a scooter! I'm excited to scoot around NYC. Since then, it's been quite the journey of trying to buy a scooter.

After much research, I determined that I want a Piaggio FLY 150. It will be go about 50+ mph with 2 people riding on it. Now that I picked out the scooter, the next step was to get my motorcycle license. In NY, any 2 wheeled vehicle that goes over 30mph is considered a motorcycle.
